The golden gates were open and a gentle voice said come and with farewell unspoken she calmly entered home. Audrey Hill, 75 answered God's call on July 16, 2022. She was born on September 20, 1946 to the late Reva White Hill and Walter Hill, Sr. in Norfolk, Virginia. She is predeceased by her brothers, Walter Hill Jr and Jesse Marvin Hill. Audrey is survived by two sisters,  Edna Hill Yates and Patricia Hill-Powell, nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and many friends. Audrey was a Baptist at an early age, she joined Bethel Baptist Church of the pastorate of Reverend Dr. Jesse E. Arrington and she was very active in her church until her health failed. Her early education began at John T. West and Dunbar Elementary School in Norfolk, Virginia. Audrey was an active member of the Drama Team, she loved acting. She was a graduate of Union Kempsville High School Class of 1964 with honors. After graduation, she attended Norfolk State University and studied English, Audrey tutored students that were in need of extra help. She worked for the  Norfolk Public School System for thirty seven years as a Special Education Teacher Assistant and retired in 2009. Audrey loved to cook and was a GREAT COOK, and made the best rolls, cakes, pies, vegetables, crab cakes and the list goes on and on. Audrey's hobby was reading, crossword puzzles, writing and word searches. She loved family gatherings. Audrey was very loving, kind and never complained, always had a smile, helpful, loved her family and would help. She will be missed by her sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
