Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Lady Ashley Nicole Williams
Lady Ashley Nicole Williams peacefully departed from labor to reward on Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Ashley was educated in the Norfolk Public School System and was a proud graduate of Matthew Fontaine Maury High School. She went on to build a successful career in retail management, serving several businesses with excellence, including Nordstrom, Jeness Uniform Solutions, Janay’s Cleaners, and most recently, Spectrum Paint. Lady Ashley was a managerial genius, gifted with the ability to maximize business, strengthen operations, and bring out the best in those around her.
Lady Ashley accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a young girl and was lovingly raised in the church by her parents. She faithfully attended The Way of the Cross Church under the outstanding leadership of the late, great Bishop Lewis Hines. There, she served with devotion in the choir, dance ministry, and in any capacity where her hands and heart were needed. She continued to serve at The Way under the leadership of her childhood friends, Bishop Christian and Lady Marquita Hines.
Lady Ashley eventually became a member of the Refuge Church of God in Christ, which later merged with the Mason Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Joseph and Lady Brenda Williams. It was there that she married the love of her life, Executive Pastor Joseph D. Williams. Their union was blessed with love, faith, family, and ten cherished years of marriage. Lady Ashley accepted her call to ministry and became a licensed missionary in the Church of God in Christ. She embraced this sacred calling with humility, grace, and dedication, serving the Lord, the church, and God’s people with a willing heart.
Lady Ashley was a beautiful woman, stylish, poised, and graceful. She loved entertaining, gathering people together, laughing, sharing stories, and having a good time. She loved deeply, served faithfully, and gave generously of herself to those she held dear. Her presence brought warmth, strength, and joy to her family and friends. She loved her nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and extended family with sincerity and tenderness. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Lady Ashley leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving husband of ten years, Pastor Joseph D. Williams; her beloved son, Prince; her bonus children, Terell, Joseph, Elijah, Asaiah, and Joelle; her parents, David and Cynthia Todd, Robert EL Williams, and Cecelia Benton; her loving in-laws, Bishop and Mrs. Joseph T. Williams; her beloved siblings, Caprina A. Harris, Tameka D. Tribbett, Theodore N. Johnson Jr. (Jeneen), Raven M. Paulidis (Anastacios), Davette L. Johnson, David L. Johnson, Takilla L. Benton, and Tiara R. Williams; nine nieces, eight nephews, one great-nephew, and one great-niece; along with a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, close relatives, church family, and friends.
Her love, legacy, faith, and impact have touched the lives of many and will live on forever.
