Artie Lee Hathaway(69) of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away surrounded by his family on January 29, 2023.

Artie was born to Cordelia and William Benton Hathaway on March 4, 1953 in Norfolk Virginia. He was educated in the Norfolk Public School system. Artie loved working with children as he served as a coach for the Midtown Rams Football League and the Huntersville Superstars under Norfolk Parks and Recreation.

Artie is survived by his wife, of 44 years, Bertha Hathaway and his daughters Sirena Parker(James) and Marcy Green(Sean). He is also survived by his sister Gwen Williams(Vann), three granddaughters, Jamesa, Jamyah and Nyasia; two grandsons James Jr. and Sean Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Cordelia and William Benton Hathaway; brother Clifton Hathaway and nephew Artie Hathaway.

Artie was an easygoing individual and a jokester. He loved laughter and most times was the life of the party at any gathering. He enjoyed sports and spending time with his family.
