She was a committed and hard working member of that board. She visited the sick and shut-in. "Musette" was a graduate of the Norfolk Public Schools, later she attended Norfolk State University and graduated in 1967 with a degree in education. After many years of committed service as a teacher, she retired from the Virginia Beach School System. She was a strong and outspoken proponent for Civil Rights, she was actively involved in her community, and assisted in voter registration at a time when people of color were hindered from doing so.
