Anita B. " Cookie" Mitchell, 72, peacefully passed away on August 21, 2018. Our beloved Cookie was born in Suffolk, VA on March 26, 1946 from the union of the late James and Alice Evans Brown. The fourth of seven siblings, Anita taught in the Chesapeake Public Schools System for 36 years retiring from Indian River High School.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter Anita Mitchell Robinson (Eddie); sons, Van B. Mitchell, II (Janice) and Brandon O. Mitchell, five grandchildren, one great-grand son, four sisters, two brothers; and many loving relatives and friends and was predeceased by one brother.
